Ask five Austin pool companies what weekly service costs and you'll get five different numbers — not because anyone's ripping you off, but because "weekly service" means different things to different companies. Some include chemicals. Some don't. Some visit four times a month, some three. So before you can compare prices, you have to compare the same job.

The standard scope
For a typical residential pool, "full weekly service" should mean:
- A weekly visit: skim, brush, and vacuum as needed
- Water testing and chemical balancing
- Basket and filter checks, with a backwash when it's due
- Chemicals included in the monthly price
Against that scope, the fair local range in Austin is $140–$220 a month. If a quote comes in well below that, it usually means chemicals are billed separately or the pool is visited less often — so read the fine print before you assume it's a better deal.
What moves the price
Three things explain most of the spread:
- Chemicals in or out. This is the biggest one. A "$110/month" quote with chemicals billed on top can easily land higher than a "$180 all-in" quote once summer chlorine demand kicks in.
- Summer vs. year-round. Some companies charge a flat rate all year; others add a small summer premium because Texas heat means more chemicals and more attention. Ask which you're getting so July doesn't surprise you.
- Pool size and features. Bigger pools, spas, and water features take more time and product.
The one question that saves the most money
Ask: "Is this price all-in with chemicals, and is it flat year-round?" That single question makes two quotes actually comparable — and it's where most of the confusion (and overpaying) hides.
